Would you consider Superman to be courageous? Probably only when there’s some Kryptonite near him. Otherwise, nothing gets to him.
It takes a lot more courage to be Batman, doesn’t it? (That is, classic Batman—not the neo- -Batman encased in armor as portrayed in modern movies). He’s facing a lot more challenges than Superman. A bullet could pass right through his leotards, couldn’t it?
What does it mean to be courageous? Courage is not about capability. It takes little courage to do something you’re absolutely sure you can do. Courage is about bringing your very best qualities you have in any situation and using them to as well as you can. If you succeed in your intended outcome, that’s wonderful. If you don’t succeed, then you’re courageous when you did it anyway and can take something away from the experience to help you next time.
If you're not scared while you're doing it, you're not being brave.
