What do you mean when you say, “my soul”? Is it an ephemeral presence that is somehow associated with your physical body? And for that matter, what do you mean when you say, “my body”? Is it your physical body that is somehow associated with a soul somewhere?
Who is the owner of the soul? Is your soul really your essence (a common definition)? Who is the “you” that owns your soul? It’s like saying “my soul is my soul”. It’s circular.
By the same token, who owns your body? Does your body own your soul, or does your soul own your body? What distinguishes “your soul” from “anyone else’s soul”?
You might say things like:
My soul has these memories…
My soul has this name…
My soul loves God…
God loves my soul…
My soul goes with a certain body on Earth…
My soul will go somewhere after my body dies…
Who is asking “My soul”? Who is asking “My body”?
Even trying to define yourself as separate from everything else using a "soul" point of view is a game of drawing imaginary lines.
