What makes things beautiful? Can anything ever be beautiful without you looking at it?

Content is empty. Plants are plants, oceans are oceans, trees are trees, sunsets are sunsets. What makes something beautiful is the context in which it appears. And you are vital to creating that context.
When it comes down to it, you (and only you) add the final critical ingredient that makes something beautiful (or not beautiful, if that is your opinion). And the only way something can be beautiful is if there’s a part within you to recognize it.
It’s just like Shakespeare wrote in Hamlet: “Nothing is good or bad but thinking makes it so”.
