When it comes to figuring everything out, there’s a point at which there ultimately is nothing to figure out. When trying to figure it all out, you end up only telling a story.
Even one of our grandest enterprises we've invented so far—science – is just a story. What does science ever try to figure out? It’s really all about creating a self-consistent story. Of course, some very useful technologies sometimes emerge from the scientific story. In addition, we’ve increased our understanding of the world by leaps and bounds through science. However, the nature of science (and really of any story) is to generate even more questions. True scientists are skeptical to their cores and are always trying to disprove a currently-accepted story.
In the grand scheme of things, even science cannot answer the most ultimate of questions—figuring out why we’re here.
You’re here. Does there need to be anything else?
