If you’re finding time to read this, you’re probably not operating in survival mode. You’re lucky. Of all the ways you could have been born, it's amazing that you’re born into someone who has the capability and the time to read anything at all.
Given that you’re not operating in survival mode, how do you spend your day? Are you spending your days at a job you like? On the other hand, do you take needless risks for the sake of adventure? Why are you doing these things? There’s no judgment in this question—just a prompting for some reflection. Are you motivated by security? Are you motivated by the rush of adrenalin resulting from high adventure?
Can you ever have a fulfilling adventure without having some basis to work from? Think about a time when you were working from survival mode. While that’s often an adventure in itself, it may not be as fun as some other adventures.
Imagine a time when you felt totally secure. How soon was it before you became bored?
Can you ever have an adventure if you’re driven toward security? Can you have both? Do those needs have to oppose each other?
