Don’t it always seem to go
That you don’t know what you’ve got ‘til it’s gone
Joni Mitchell—Big Yellow Taxi
What would it be like if you really understood what you had while you still had it?
What if you enjoyed your children while they’re around? Children have a way of growing up out from under you. Before you know it—they’ve moved out, leaving you with a case of empty nest syndrome. What would you give for one more day with your child as a darling 2-year old, or 10- year old? The only way you can get one more day with them at that age is to enjoy them during that time.
What happens if you spend your entire life saying, “I wish this” or “I wish that”. Then you arrive there—and you want something else.
What’s the one thing that lasts forever? The present. Savor the moment and realize what you have while you still have it.
