It Goes Both Ways

Just like everything is a gift to you, you are a gift to everything else.

A tree takes... it draws carbon dioxide from the air and nutrients from the soil. The world is a gift to the tree.

At the same time, the tree is a gift to the world by adding oxygen to the air and by providing shade, protection. and often a home to other creatures.

We often hear platitudes like "everything's a gift". That's absolutely true! At the same time you're taking the gift, remember what you're giving back! Sure, you're breathing in some oxygen right now. And you're breathing out some carbon dioxide that a plant can use!
