Some things seem to last just moments—a breath, a snowflake, a falling star. Other things seem to last forever—a stone, a mountain, a star. But it’s all a matter of perspective. If you could compress several million years into a few minutes using time lapse photography, the mountains would appear to gallop across the plains!
Remember that even the most seemingly static things are part of a much larger process, and that you're privy to only a specific snapshot of it. This moment is the LAST TIME you’ll ever see things exactly as they are right now. And now this moment is the LAST TIME you’ll ever see things exactly as they are right now. And now this one is.
That should be enough reason to savor the moment. It’s usually easy to savor the moment if the moment is turning out like you want it to (though we sometimes forget that!). And, this is a helpful way to reframe the moment if it’s NOT turning out quite like you want it to.
Savor the moment.
