We live our days out one at a time, sometimes losing perspective. Being bombarded by social pressures, focusing on goals, and fretting over the past are great ways to avoid living in the present.
Now think about how you are living right now. What do you have available to you right now?
Look at someone much younger than you. What does he or she have that you don’t? What do you have that he or she does not?
Look at someone much older than you. What does he or she have that you don’t? What do you have that he or she does not?
Whatever strengths and talents you have—you have them NOW. You may not have had them earlier, and you will certainly NOT have them at some point in the future. Think ahead to that time and look back at the person you are right now. From that perspective, did you do what you wanted to right now with your strengths and talents while you still have them?
