You constantly face choices. You make so many decisions unconsciously without thinking too much about them. But there are other times where you may be deliberating between one choice or the other—and you take one option by default. You decided “not to go skydiving”, or you decided “not to go dancing for the first time”.
Think about how it feels to decide “to not do something”—rather than deciding “not to do something”. Thinking in those terms makes your decision process much more active.
